At Fort Collins Window Tinting, we believe that window tinting should have two important components: high quality window film products and careful, precise installation. That’s why we’ve been perfecting our window film installation process ever since we were first established in Fort Collins in 2008. We are committed to supplying residential and commercial window tinting solutions that will continue to provide you with exceptional results year after year.
We use a well-developed plan for all of our window tinting projects. Our window film installation process is generally executed using the following procedure:
A) We conduct a thorough inspection and provide a professional consultation. We meet with you onsite to accomplish some preliminary steps to gain an understanding of the building and discover your goals for the project. At this time, we will also take site measurements and schedule an appointment for the installation. We can also schedule appointments during off hours to accommodate your needs.
B) Prior to your appointment, we precut all of the window film with a plotter. This helps to minimize waste and accelerate the installation process. When we arrive, we clean thoroughly clean the windows to ensure proper installation and clarity. Next, we apply C-Bond to prime the glass and then install the film.
C) The next step is to squeegee out the adhesive and clean up the glass and edges of the windows.* Then, we check the windows to make sure that both the film and glass look flawless. We wait for about 24-72 hours** to make sure that the adhesive has set and then the project is finished.
**Please note, for projects that are not applied with C-Bond, it may take up to four weeks for the film to achieve full clarity and adhesion. In certain cases that involve well-shaded areas or interior rooms that lack sunlight, there can be adhesion problems when C-Bond is not used for the installation.
*This step does not apply to projects that do not involve C-Bond primer.
At Fort Collins Window Tinting, we use C-Bond on nearly every window film application because we believe it is the superior method for installing window film. C-Bond works to strengthen glass and window film products at the molecular level for increased strength and security. It achieves amazing benefits for our clients such as:
Improves glass strength by at least 100%
Prevents glass from breaking due to thermal expansion
Defends against hail, golf balls, and lawn mower rocks
Dramatically cuts down the drying time for window film
Increases window film clarity during the installation period
Past case studies have shown that C-Bond Systems have the ability to dramatically improve glass strength and resistance to impact. At Fort Collins Window Tinting, we use C-Bond I for all general window film applications. When C-Bond II is layered on top of multiple layers of window film during a single application, it creates a high security system that provides ballistic resistance.
